Baitussalam Food Security & Assistance
Our Mission: Combating Hunger
Food insecurity is one of the most pressing humanitarian challenges of our time. From war-torn regions to low-income urban areas, millions struggle every day for a single meal.
Baitussalam Welfare Trust (BWT) stands at the forefront of Pakistan’s fight against hunger, providing cooked meals, dry rations, subsidized groceries, and sustainable food solutions to vulnerable communities.
Through initiatives like Baitussalam Roti Plant, Imdadi Markaz, Sasti Roti, Kitchens and Food Bank, we strive to ensure that every act of giving restores dignity, nourishes hope, and builds resilience.
COVID-19 Response: Door-to-Door Food Distribution
When the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill, BWT mobilized its largest-ever food response campaign.
In just two months, Baitussalam Welfare Trust (BWT) distributed ration bags, cooked meals, and roti to 3.5 million beneficiaries across Pakistan’s urban slums.
Our volunteers reached households directly, ensuring families of daily wage earners, skilled workers, and the elderly were not left hungry during lockdowns.
Baitussalam Imdadi Markaz: Subsidized Grocery Markets
Economic instability in Pakistan has left millions of families unable to afford nutritious food. Baitussalam Imdadi Markaz, based in Karachi, addresses this crisis by providing rations at highly subsidized prices to deserving households.
Beneficiaries include families who have lost breadwinners, people with disabilities, and the elderly without caretakers.
This initiative not only ensures food security but also combats child malnutrition and stunting, which affect around 40% of children under five in Pakistan.
To date, 30 million+ beneficiaries have received rations through Imdadi Markaz.
Sasti Roti: Bread Subsidy for All
For
many impoverished families, even a single roti can mean survival.
The Baitussalam Sasti Roti (Bread Subsidy) Program ensures that freshly baked
rotis are available for only Rs. 5 each, making daily sustenance
affordable for thousands.
Volunteers oversee roti distribution points, where millions of rotis are provided annually to those struggling with food insecurity.
Annual Ramadan Programs: Feeding the Fasting
Every Ramadan, Baitussalam spreads the spirit of giving through:
●
Sehr & Iftar Drives: Providing over 125,000
meals annually
These programs ensure that no one is deprived of the blessings of Ramadan, from a warm iftar meal to a month’s worth of rations.
Baitussalam Food Bank: Turning Surplus into Sustenance
The
Baitussalam Food Bank bridges two critical issues: food waste and hunger.
By collecting excess food from homes, restaurants, and events, the initiative
redistributes it daily to families in need.
Operating in Karachi, Talagang, & Islamabad, the Food Bank has served thousands of cooked meals to the underprivileged while promoting a culture of mindful giving.
Tohfa-e-Ramadan to Monthly Kifalat
Benefiting more than 1.65 million+ individuals through Tohfa-e-Ramadan Packages and if they need provision they are registered for Monthly Kifalat for annual sustainable programs.
Waqf Qurbani: Sharing the Blessings of Eid
On Eid-ul-Adha, when Muslims around the world commemorate sacrifice and gratitude, Baitussalam Welfare Trust runs its annual Waqf Qurbani Program, a large-scale meat distribution campaign that feeds thousands globally.
Under this initiative, sheep, goats, and calves are slaughtered according to Islamic principles and hygienically, and fresh meat is distributed to families in need, ensuring everyone shares in the joy of Eid.
