The Baitussalam Human Development Program (BHDP) is an initiative designed to help unemployed professionals, skilled workers, and small business owners rebuild their livelihoods through entrepreneurship and sustainable income generation.
Initially, it was launched in collaboration with IBA Karachi’s Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), the program combines practical business education, personalized mentorship, and financial support to help participants transition from unemployment to independence, but now it is run by BWT.
Instead
of relying on one-time charity, BHDP offers a long-term pathway to
stability, turning economic hardship into an opportunity for growth, learning,
and self-reliance.
The
COVID-19 pandemic left thousands across Pakistan struggling with job losses,
income cuts, and uncertainty about their future.
Among the hardest hit were white-collar professionals, skilled laborers, and
small business owners who suddenly found themselves without a source of income.
Recognizing
this growing need, Baitussalam Welfare Trust (BWT) launched Baitussalam
Human Development Program (BHDP) to create dignified, sustainable
alternatives to financial aid, by empowering individuals to earn, innovate, and
lead.
BHDP is entrepreneurship and incubation program that helped participants transform ideas into viable, income-generating ventures.
Through interactive workshops, guided mentorship, and support participants learn to:
● Identify and evaluate business opportunities
● Develop business models and financial plans
● Understand marketing, operations, and digital tools
● Build confidence as independent entrepreneurs
Upon completion, participants received support to launch their business ideas, ensuring that training leads to real-world outcomes.
What makes BHDP unique is its focus on holistic support and self-sustainability.
Participants receive:
● Monthly grocery assistance
● Mentorship and post-graduation support
● Repayable funding model,
The Baitussalam Human Development Program reflects BWT’s belief that true welfare is much more than mere help of someone, true welfare lies in empowering the needy into a self-sustainable individual for the sake of Allah.
Each graduate represents a story of transformation: a father reopening his business, a mother starting her home enterprise, or a young worker turning an idea into income.
“This program didn’t just give me training; it gave me back my hope.” — BHDP Graduate
